Grants Fly In

Just wanted to throw out something for you guys to consider. The SSA is going to have a loose Fly In on the weekend of April 22nd up in Grants NM. The sites are located on the southwestern flank of Mt. Taylor, an 11000' high dormant volcano. There are 3 launchs facing WNW, North, and SW between 700-1000' AGL and are all HG/PG friendly. All are top landable and bottom landable with ample room. This site is usually a pretty good place this time of year for just about all skill levels with great ridge soaring opportunities and X/C Potential with I-40 running downwind. All these launches are unregulated and we plan on camping out on them to enjoy their remoteness. There are cheap hotels in Grants which is pretty close by for those who are scared of the dark. We are still planning it and are considering a 3 dayer if folks want to go that way to justify the drive. If your interested monitor the SSA board at www.flysandia.org or you can contact me at blemonbryconaz@aol.com for more info. Thanks, hope some of you can make it and fair winds...Bill L.
