Flying report /20 October/

Post by Irina » Fri Oct 21, 2005 4:19 pm

The October is the best time to fly in Box Canyon.
Five of us plus Shadow were on the landing zone at 15:45: Dima (my old flying chap), Michael (from UK), Yulya and Vitalic (bi –wingual pilots from Albuquerque). Dima, Mikael, Yulya and Irina hiked up for the first knoll. It was north-west wind around 5 mph, I launch from north launch and scratching the bushes did have a sled ride. Then the glass off conditions came and wind was stronger and stable: Yulya flew about 15 min, Mikael launch and flew around 45 min and landed after the sunset, then Dima launch and flew 15 min. Shadow hike down after my flight. It took from him two more minutes than my flight in order join me on the LZ.
It was a wonderful day to fly. We had a perfect glass off conditions. Evrybody were happy, especially Michael, who flew for the first time in AZ!!! I added two pics to my album from this day.
