Weekend Flying

Friday I went to Coolidge for aerotow training. Eric was there and had already flown. It was getting late by the time I got to launch, after towing to 1500 feet I boxed the wake and then tried to come up through the wake and broke the weak link. Bill's glider flies really nice so we played with it on the way down. Landing on wheels felt about the same as landing a sailplane but he had me dive at the ground first. I'll try that with my Sport 2 when I have that long runway in front of me to see how far it wants to glide in ground effect. My first landing was a little long as I rolled up onto the runway and the second I rolled up 5 feet short of where I wanted to stop.
Sure was a lot of fun and I'm going back soon to finish my aerotow rating.
Next time Norene will get the first flight to see what HG is like.

Saturday we went to the Tucson Soaring Club and I flew my daughter Claire and then 2 flights with Norene...the only lift had 150 up on one side and 600 down on the other so we only got 20 minute flights from a 3000 foot tow.
All in all an excellent end to the year and Very good begining to the New Year.
