"A" Mountain site guide updated

Post by jlowery » Fri Aug 20, 2004 8:36 am

I've updated the "A" mountain site guide to reflect that fact that it will soon be open with restrictions. There is a link to the liability release in the site guide, and contact information for Eric and Gunter.

I've also added a link to the liability release in the members-only section for convenience.

Please let me know if the site guide needs and additions or corrections.

Thanks,
John

New Hours for A Mtn

Post by morey » Wed Aug 25, 2004 2:34 pm

This may slightly restric how early we can fly (like on New Year's day) and how late we can fly (or retrieve vehicles after a sunset flight). Although 8pm through the winter daylight hours is still pretty late. Thought you should all be aware:

New Hours at Sentinel Peak Park ("A" MOUNTAIN) Start Sept. 10

Effective Monday, Sept.10, the Parks and Recreation Department will temporarily close the upper parking area at Sentinel Peak Park (A Mountain) to vehicles at 8 p.m., Monday-Saturday. Sunday Park closure at 6 p.m. will not change.

New hours for vehicle access to the park will be Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m. (Previous hours were daily, 6 a.m.-10:30 p.m. and Sunday, 6 a.m.-6 p.m.)

The new park hours will be re-evaluated following a 30-day trial period. In addition to new hours, there will be speed humps installed on the downhill side of the park access road and concentrated TPD enforcement of park rules, including helicopter flyovers of the park.
