Flagstaff Trip this weekend

I'm leaving for Flagstaff saturday morning after I drop off my daughter for camp. I want to get some PG time at the craters and I don't have to be back to work until Wednesday. I've got the HG if it gets too windy.
I'm taking my 4WD with me and Norene will be driving if anyone wants to join me up there.
Where is the campground located?

The campground is west of the road leading to Craters. As I remember it, you drive past the junkyard, over a couple of rises and it's a turnoff into the Ponderosa''s. If you were coming back from the craters it would be your first right after seeing the Ponderosa's and right before climbing a hill. Hope that helps. Ross
Flyer's camp
Flyer's camp is about 6-7 miles up Leupp Road measured from Townsend-Winona Road. There's a mile marker (433 or 443, I can't remember which) on the right hand side of the road, a cattle guard on the opposite side of the road leads to camp.
Go 0.9 miles back that dirt road, you'll see a small tin untility shack on the right. Turn left and find yourself in a clearing with a fire ring and obvious areas to camp in.
Have a great weekend,
John

Thanks for the directions, the mile marker is 433 and when you get to the shack go past that road to the next left for the campground.
I didn't fly the paraglider because the conditions weren't just right sooo Sunday I flew the HG from Merriam in light lift. I went too far around to the north side and ended up landing just below where the PG's land on the road. Perfect 2 step landing with a very light breeze. I broke down and went back up to try again and had a half hour in the smoothest lift I've flown in years. Another HG pilot, Jim, had his first soaring flight ever so I landed to congratlate him, another perfect landing exactly in the breakdown area.
Monday wasn't flyable so we enjoyed the view until I gave up and went to look around Flagstaff. Tuesday I thought about going to see Grand Falls but some PG pilots were flying so I drove up Merriam again and flew the NE side midday.
It kept cycling from 10 down to 0 so it was all thermal lift. I launched and ended up half way down the mountain before I found a decent thermal and got about 500 over the top until I lost it. I managed to fly for half an hour but it was time to pack up and drive back to Tucson so I landed in the same place as the first time...the wind dropped to 0 on my approach and I didn't have a perfect landing that time. Bang on the head and a very slightly bent down tube from the ground loop.
I think I slowed down running too soon for the glider to set down on my shoulders, the soft ground and landing at 5400 (from TOPO) feet with 0 wind were factors also.
All in all I had a good time and Norene took some video of the flying.
