Howdy,

I am a low airtime H2 moving to Tucson in August. I have flown at LMFP primarily, but also at Crestline in CA. Would like to join, meet local pilots & get the general lay of the land on the free flight scene in Tucson. I will be arriving in early August from Georgia. Would love to get the proverbial nickel tour of area flight sites.

Regards,

Christopher Albers

Christopher, welcome to the desert.
Our HG community is pretty small, but they tend to watch the forum a bit more than the PG community, which is now using GroupMe to coordinate flying plans. Please send your cell phone number to me at j_r_wolfe@msn.com if you want to be added to our GroupMe chat.
In the meantime, please connect with Eric Smith, our local HG instructor. He is best placed to provide guidance and site introductions for you, and he's always looking for someone with aluminum to fly with.

OK, so I'm leaving for work this morning and I see a silver SUV pulling out of the Home Depot parking lot in OV on Oracle with a Wills Wing on the roof! I'm so excited I can barely contain myself, so I pull over into the turn lane trying to get this guys attention. He rolls down his window &, silly me, do I bother to introduce myself? No, I just ask him where he's flying today (Miller) and if he's gonna be at the next club meeting (yes)... and I tell him I'll meet him there. Really, I want to follow him and offer a retrieve, but I think my employer might have an issue...

Anyhow, whoever you are, sorry I forgot to introduce myself. I am so pleased to know that a pilot lives near me... I'm thinking you might be the guy on the Mt. Lemmon Intro video.

I broke my arm moving in 6 weeks ago, so I failed to make the Sept meeting. I plan on being there next week.

Silver SUV, I'm thinking it's Jason Otto.
In any case, it will be good to meet you during our upcoming meeting. And, in future, please avoid dangerous activities like moving. Flying is much safer.
