Box Canyon Launch Clean-Up

Post by mshacter » Fri Nov 06, 2015 10:20 am

I made a poll that you can visit and check off which days and times you are available to help fix up the PG launch at Box. I am thinking we meet at Houghton and I-10 at the times noted.

If there is a big feeling of meeting up earlier or later, post on here and I will try to edit the polls. Please try to vote by 11/13/15. The day/time with the most participants will be when we go. If we do not have at least 5 people we will not go.

I will even provide some lunch to those who volunteer.

So far a total of 5 people have voted and agreed on a day. I encourage other people to still vote. If we can have 6+ people helping on one day we can probably accomplish quite a bit. We may also be able to have two days of launch clean up and have an amazing site for all to fly.

A date has been picked. Box Canyon launch clean-up will be Sunday Nov. 22. We will all meet at the SW corner of Houghton and I-10 at 8am. Please bring a good pair of work gloves and any good earth moving implements of destruction. Any questions or comments post up here.

The people I have down to help with launch on Sunday are Rafael, Chris C., Aaron, and Myself. If you would like to join, post up here or on the doodle site.

Is there anyone in this group that can volunteer a vehicle or two to get us and gear to the launch site? John W. is unable to be there and his car would have been ideal.

Last bit, I was going to provide deli meats and cheeses for lunch. Are there any dietary restrictions I should know of?

The Box Canyon Clean-up is canceled due to low turnout. It would have just been myself and Rafael. We can try again in a couple months maybe. We will need at least one PG pilot who is experienced with the site to know what should ideally be done.

Sorry for the late notice.

Mitch, let's not wait a couple months. Please just find the next weekend (or even weekday) when we can get a critical mass of people out there to do (and guide) the work.

A new doodle poll. Please sign up on when you can help. Once we have at least 5 people and one is an experienced box pilot (who knows what it needs to look like), we can get some work done. Please use the online poll so we can know who is in.
