I just spoke to Andrew at the US Forest Service Huachuca ranger district office, and he says that the road to the Carr Canyon campground is open for the season. I was surprised because I hadn't seen a press release on it, but he says it is.

I don't imagine the road to launch has gotten any better since last fall, so until we get to check it out, might as well assume that high-clearance 4wd is going to be necessary to get up there.

72-hour forecasts for Saturday are saying 5 SE in the morning, 5 SW in the afternoon with the high around 62.
