Thursday 6-14-12 Dianne Taylor and I Picked up Eric Tucker at 4:45am and headed to Crestline Calif. in hopes of airtime. I had three flights with over 9 hours air time, 5:09 being the longest. Eric T had 4 flights with good air time.
The high light of the weekend was Taylor my 13 year old son. He had 2 tandem flights with Rob McKinzie. One a 45 minute flight and Taylor flew the whole flight except for the launch and landing. He worked several good thermals and got to the top of the stack. After landing he had his first hang gliding lesson. He was flying a 220 condor and in a short time was going off the top of the 80 training hill. logging over 20 flights. This is made possible with a 2 seater John Deer cart that hauls the glider and student back to the top of the hill. it was only 3 minutes between flights. The next day he had another tandem and another lesson this time flying a falcon 170 all off the top of the 80 foot training hill and logging another 20 plus flights. Each flight lasting 30 to 40 seconds. At the end of the lesson Rob asked Taylor if he wanted to take his hang one test which he did. We have a new member in the club Taylor Smith. He is looking for a falcon so keep your eyes open for him.
Rafeal and Debbie showed up Saturday morning for the landing clinic put on by Ryan Voit. He had some good landings as seen that evening at the landing clinic.
This is a great place to fly. A big grassy lz a place to camp with a view over looking the lz and city for only 5 bucks a night which includes a hot shower.
I cant wait to go back

once you have tasted flight you will forever walk the earth looking skyward for there you have been and there you long to return.
Re: Crestline
Cool! Congratulations, Taylor! He'll be out on the hill in no time.
Sounds like a awesome trip for everyone.
