Looks like a drying trend with light west winds weds. Any interest out there?

Hmmm. Yeah- I could be interested. Do glassoff's work this time of year? Or would we just be glassing off into a thunderstorm?

Methinks that it won't turn NW until after 3 pm if today is any indication.

Sunset is ~7:20pm.

When were you thinking of going?

Response to below: I've gotta' work. I could swing bolting out of work early to be in the LZ before 5pm or so for a glassoff, but mid morning just messes up my whole day. no can do.

Sure- the humidity will mellow things out a bit-- possibly too much. With a saturated ground and no appreciable NW flow- I'd question the soarability of anything before 2 or 3pm.

Glass off is a possibility and yes they work as long as a storm doesn't blow down on us. I would prefer to hike up late morning andfly mid-day. All of this humidity has got to mellow things out. What do you think?

Tomorrow looks like a bit of a long shot. NCEP is showing light NW and FSL is showing NE / light and variable. It also could be a fun hike given the heat and humidity, and there's still a 30% chance of afternoon thunder bumpers. Another consideration is the condition of the roads given all the rain. I suspect they could have gotten a bit ugly across some of the washes. But other than that, it sounds like a great day. Still, it never hurts to check the morning update.

humidity has definitely mellowed the air in phoenix. we have been doing 2 pm launches and climbing in 3-500s with almost no sink and no edges this last week. btw, do you guys post so infrequently because it takes five tries to get the code correct??

While I'm not opposed to bolting out of work a little early to get in an evening flight- I think Fred's right. We never got a decent westerly flow this afternoon, and it looks that way for tomorrow as well. Looks like a sticky hot windless day.

Yeah it looks like a hot sticky windless day. We need a high west drive up launch but I think driving to San Diego is out of the question. Oh well it was worth a try.
