The 6000 foot winds aloft are predicted 5-10 northeast getting lighter later in the day. Monsoon is here, though, so cloudbase will be around 12000 and OD is possible, even likely later in the day.
We're meeting at Eric's place at 7:30 AM saturday morning, and should be in the LZ at 9:00.

Miller PG Report
Fred, Jeremy (?spell'g) a new P2 Pg pilot who just moved to Tucson, and I were up at the N launch by about 10:45 am. Winds were switching from NE to SE with light intermittant cycles coming thru occasionally. I launched first (wind dummy) at 11:05 on the East launch to test the conditions. I stayed up basically by ridge soaring the cliffs, going around the corner (S) once in a while to soar above the HG launch. Then back in front of the Pg launch where I caught a small punchy thermal. My max alt. was 8350. Max climb was 800 fpm, max sink as 1100 fpm. As I was flying toward the lz I caught one more thermal just above the lower hill which took me back up to 7600. I stayed up for 55 min's.
Fred launched about 15 min's after I did. He found some sink and also some lift. He flew around for about 30 min and landed early due to some technical difficulties. After watching Fred and I getting tossed around a bit, Jeremy wisely opted not to fly and was nice enought o drive the Subi back down.
There were 4 Hg pilots who flew, but that's another story to be told by them.

Miller HG Report
Randy Kerchill and Mark Sawyer came out to fly, Eric Smith and I were there, and Wendy Edsel came out to drive for us. It looked nice when we got to launch, blowing straight in on the SE launch despite a predicted NE winds aloft. The PG guys - Fred, Jeromy and Gunter - were checking out the HG launch but soon headed over to the slope launches so as not go get launched too late.
There were two PGs in the air when Mark took off in his Falcon, and was able to soar for a while. Randy followed him off shortly after and was doing well also. Shortly after Randy launched everything kind of died, PGs and HGs got flushed, although Randy managed to avoid the biggest of the sink and was able to stay up. I took off about 20-30 minutes later in a nice cycle, but never got above launch. I got a low save over the LZ and back up to 7000, but then got flushed hard and landed after 30 minutes. Eric launched shortly before I landed, and of course got stinking high, something like 12500 over Miller. He flew out almost to Coppertop School, but then came back and landed in the LZ after an hour or so.
It was a nice monsoon day, everyone flew, no one bent or tore anything, just a real nice day.
I posted some pictures in the <A href="/http://www.sahga.com/forum/album_cat.ph ... =3">Miller Canyon album</A> to go with Gunter's shots.
