Presently it looks like a glass off at Box for Sat. pm. Valley winds out of the W@7-8 (12-13@ lower launch).
Lz at 4:00 pm, lower launch by 5-5:15 pm launch between 5:45 and 6pm.
The hike will be very hot (100). Will finalize tomorrow.

Sat. Pg Flying Report

Post by Gunter » Sun Jun 18, 2006 11:51 am

After reading John's report this will be boring.
Horst (a visiting pilot form Germany) and I met in the Lz at 4:30 pm. Horst launched first from the N launch into a light cycle. He scratched out front for a while catching little thermals, and eventually after about 10 min. landed short of the Lz.
I launched around 6:30. As usually happens, the winds had switched to wnw, so I was standing in a rotor. I waited it out and eventully the winds switched back to the N. I launched into a very light cycle (that's all there was at this time) and scratched for about 18 minutes before I made it to the upper lauch (6200'). Eric was nice enough to lown me his wing which is actually a bit large for me. I flew it at mid range, so it was a bit floaty/ switchy. The winds were now coming out of the NNE, so there was some slight rotor affect being felt. I headed out to the Lz and landed after 26 min's. Not a spectacular flight, but it's time in the air on a hot summer's day.
