Miller Canyon road project RESCHEDULED, Sept 13th

Hi, Everyone

Due to weather and scheduling issues the Miller Canyon road work date has been moved to September 13th and (if necessary) 14th.

We plan on meeting at 6:30 – 7:00 AM at the parking area near the USFS restrooms about ½ mile up Carr Canyon road. We hope to have between 6 and 12 volunteers for clearing the launches, glider set-up and layout areas, and hand-tool work and rock-stacking on drainage cuts.

Please bring for your own use work gloves and ,if you have them, good pruning shears or shovel.

We’re hoping for a great turn-out to prepare the Miller launch road and launches for the upcoming fly-in. Please come on out and join us!

Please post here to RSVP so we can get a good head count for this important event.

Hi Guy`s, an Gals,

The road work up to the reef will be accomplished this weekend Sat the 13th. This will help us prepare for the Miller Canyon Fly`n.

We have been fortunate as the the Forest Service has repaired the worst of the road across the Reef up to launch.
( Due to the recent rains we may need to rework some sections.)
Rafeal will bring his skid steer an we need to assist with hand tools where possible.
The three launches need to be cleaned up.
Run offs need to dug.
Brush needs to be trimmed over head an along the roadway.
These are the objectives ,due to rescheduling we could use some additional labor ?

Any of you SAHGA members help would be greatly appreicated.
( Lunch will be provided)

I'm meeting Eric Smith and Dave Bishop Saturday morning at 6 AM at Eric's house. We'll work out ride-sharing arrangements there. No flying plans so I'm not bringing my glider or roof rack.

I think that gets us to the meeting point on Carr Canyon Road at 7:30, but it might be a little later.

Hope to be at meeting rendezvous between 7 am and 7:30 am. I have room for 4-6 people if anyone wants to leave their vehicle in the parking lot and ride up with me.
