CARR CANYON ROAD TEMORARILY CLOSED AT BRIDGE Road Expected to Reopen When Weather Conditions Improve

SIERRA VISTA, AZ (January 11, 2013) –– The Coronado National Forest, Sierra Vista Ranger District, has temporarily closed Carr Canyon Road (Forest Road 368) from the bridge to the road’s end near Ramsey Vista Campground. During this time both Ramsey Vista and Reef Townsite campgrounds will be closed. The lower picnic area and adjacent parking area will remain open to visitors.

The purpose of the closure is to provide for public safety in Carr Canyon, Ramsey Vista Campground, and Reef Townsite Campground due to snow and icy conditions on the road resulting from recent winter storms. The road will remain closed until it is safely passable and weather conditions improve.
