mustang
I am always interested in going to the Mustangs, though I haven't flown there yet. It's my closest site. I can fly most any day of the week if I know by 8am that someone else wants to go. My cell phone no. is 520-604-0209; call any time, I'm up early.

Miller
I would really like to go on Sunday and there's a small chance I could be free to go today; I'll know at about 10am. My phone number is 520-604-0209. Chaz, what's yours?

Friday Flying (wrong thread but topic switched to Friday)
A short flight it was for me but I was very satisfied just getting another flight under my belt and my first stand-up spot landing in AZ. Many thanks to Earl for helping me get inflated, to Gunter and Fred for your tips and feedback, and especially to Irina for letting me go ahead of you (I asked be...

Thank you Gunter!
We got up to the lower launch at Box at about 3:00pm and got to witness some of the characteristic wind switches there. By about 4:00 it was more consistently NW. Red, Irena (sp?), Ray, Sherry, and I got sled runs or "extended" sled runs. The wind switched before Chaz got off so I believe he had to ...

insurance
Thanks Morey, that helps a lot. The $750 annual cost, is that just for Box launches, or does that include other sites such as Miller? And can you share what SAHGA pays the state for the Box LZ permit? In any case, I certainly understand the importance of supporting SAHGA.
In gratitude,
Allan

SAHGA Membership
Hi Morey,
If I'm interpreting your post correctly you are saying that SAHGA membership is not required to fly Box. But the SAHGA website says "Must be SAHGA member or guest due to state-owned LZ special use permit." Can you please clarify this?
Thanks,
Allan

Torrey training
Hi E.C. I just came across your inquiry here. I totally agree with Morey on this. I decided on getting my PG2 at Torrey after having been an HG pilot long ago in the San Diego area with an appreciation for the glassy smooth and relatively dense air at the coast there. True, it’s not comparable to AZ...

Saturday conditions and a Big Thanks!
Just to give a little flying (observation) report on Saturday at Mustang. When we arrived at the LZ winds were right out of the south or even SE at 90 degrees cross, but we all hiked up any way. Soon after we arrived at launch it was straight in but honkin with Gunther's meter reporting gusts to 18 ...

Mustangs
If anyone thinks the Mustangs are flyable today and are willing to be my guide please call me at 604-0209. I am a P2 and have only flown Torrey and Miller. I can give you a report on the wind here in Patagonia, and meet you in Sonoita or at the LZ.

mustang
Thanks John for the tip. I don't feel I'm quite ready for Box, hike-wise if not flying-wise. I understand it's a longer hike at Box. Also it's much longer a drive than I feel like today and I'm not yet a member of SAHGA. But I'm not attached to flying today so may just wait. I can fly just about any...

I would also like to go to Mustang and could meet anyone there as I live in Patagonia but have not flown there before so need someone to be a guide. My cell number is 520-604-0209; I don't check this board very often.

Small paraglider wanted
Thanks Morey but I think I would also be better off with a more stable and less sporty glider, that's a little newer.

Small paraglider wanted
I am a new pilot, just completed a P2 course in San Diego and am looking to purchase a slightly used small paraglider. I weigh 120# plus gear. I would also like to meet local pilots and have someone show me the local sites. If you need a driver (before I get a wing) or would just like some company a...
