Flight restriction over Miller Canyon due to fire (LIFTED)
The following covers our launch area at Miller. Until it's lifted Miller is closed to HG/PG. Updated information can be found at http://airspace.nifc.gov/mapping/nifc/index.cfm . As of this evening TV news is reporting the Montezuma fire covers 180 acres. No information about expected containment. 4...

Monday Miller anyone?
I'm picking up Eric at his place at 7:30 AM for a Miller Canyon run. They're predicting light east in the morning at 6000 ft msl. Top of lift hasn't been spectacular the last few days but it's still stayed around 11-12k. Lorraine has offered to drive in case we get away for some XC. Anyone else inte...

Weekend flying plans
I won't be headed to Alamogordo this weekend (sigh) but am looking for flying opportunities in Arizona. Friday looks possibly good for Miller and XC, light winds in the morning moderate west in the afternoon at 6k feet. I *may* take the day off and go down there. Anyone else interested please post. ...

Sunday HG?
Is anyone interested in a Whetstones run this afternoon? Weather Underground says Ft. Huachuca will be 15 kts SW on the ground this afternoon, perfect for the 'stones. Dr. Jack estimates a nice, high top of lift, > 16k. I haven't decided for sure yet, but am leaning towards it. I haven't had a decen...

Flying Saturday?
Eric thinks it might be good in the afternoon for Box. It looks light and southwest to me, but you never know. He's got training in Sonoita in the morning. If it does look good I'll be meeting him in the Meadows around 1 PM. If you're thinking about joining us, you'll want to confirm by phone or rad...
