In case you haven't noticed, the new website is finally up and running. I know it took a little longer that I would have wanted but everybody with a full time job can understand why.

One of the reasons the development took longer than normally anticipated was my attempt to use top notch technologies but at the same time to keep the cost of the components used manageable. So far I have done a pretty decent job at keeping the cost under control. I've only paid about $2 for an extension that I needed and didn't have the time and experience to write it myself. Everything else is open source and freeware. I even found a great hosting company that will host the site for free (with some limitations that we can more than live with) and if everything works out, it will save SAHGA the $35 a year that we used to pay for hosting

The main features, that I'm really proud of, are being able to fully integrate the bulletin board (forum) within the website itself, not only the look and feel but also enable the users of the two systems to be completely in sync and able to keep the session alive when switching between the two. Additionally, I have installed a subscription extension that can manage membership levels automatically.

There still are a few quirks that I'm working through, please be patient until we fix them and transfer everything from the old site to the new one.

I will keep a list of things that need to be fixed in a new sticky topic and will cross them over as they get addressed.

If you haven't done it already, please give the website a good shake up, I need some volunteers to test things.
