Looks like it will be good on Saturday for the A or Miller.

Anybody?

The A might work for me on Sat.
The Miller road from the gate to launch is in pretty sad shape.
Talked about doing some road work at last meeting.

Miller looks much better. E 10-15 until pretty late in the afternoon, 12k top of lift. The road is deteriorated and isn't any fun to drive, but it can be managed, particularly in a longer-wheelbase truck.

The "A" will be too light to soar, at least for my fat butt on my little glider.

I'm planning on meeting Eric Smith around 8 AM, we should be at the Miller LZ around 9:30.

A few of us baggies are thinking about flying the Lemmon on Sunday.

I'm meeting Eric and John at Houghton and I10 at 8:15.
Getting gear ready. Wow is my glider bag dusty.

Looks like it's gonna' be a nice day. SE to E winds at launch 5-10, so it's bag gable (but I'm taking the stiffie)

Took a little flight off the "A" today.

Debbie & I were on launch around 11:00 am, only to see winds coming in 25-30 mph with an occasional gust to 40. We decided to do lunch and come back, arriving the second time winds were 15-20 out of the ESE so we set up. By the time we set up it was 1:00 pm, now winds coming in at 8-10 with an easterly cross. Took a short straight in cycle for a 15 minute but enjoyable flight.

I'm sure the pilots that flew Miller faired better, but I was home with a cold brewsky by 2:30 pm.

Big thanks to J-Lo for dragging me up the hill, his son Sean for driving, Raquel for helping on launch- it takes a village.

It was a particularly sweet day at Miller. An easy SE flow at launch, continued to blow in all day with minimal gustiness- so launch conditions were comfy. Thermals were of the light/winter variety requiring a lot of attention- but they were playful and sometimes rewarded you with a nice 500fpm climb- nothing scary at all. Best I could do was 8,350, John got a couple hundred feet higher than that. So- not a big booming day, but a fun, workable day of totally stress free flying, which is exactly what I was looking for. 55min of airtime for me before the bottom fell out. Nice steady 6-8mph in the LZ even made landing easy.

Hang gliding is really cool.

I am so glad you got a good flight Morey! I only wish I could have been there to enjoy it with you. I was taking scouts on a water skiing camp out at lake Roosevelt. They were working on there wake boarding merit badge. I hope you get to fly again soon and I can join you.

once you have tasted flight you will forever walk the earth looking skyward for there you have been and there you long to return.
