This is a reminder that there will be a SAHGA meeting on Tuesday, October 11th at 7:00 PM at the

This will be an important meeting. There has been a motion and second to amend the SAHGA by-laws to limit voting to one vote per membership, regardless of whether it is a single or family membership, effectively ending voting privileges for family members that are not individual members. With the recent adoption of electronic voting there has been concern that a single member with a family membership could control as many votes as there are members in the family.

Passing an amendments to the by-laws requires advance notice of the issue in the meeting announcement (this post, and email), and requires 2/3 of the members present at the meeting to vote in favor. Under the current bylaws, family members will be permitted to vote on this issue.
