Robin Hastings of the Rio Grande Soaring Association asked that I pass along that they will be having their Columbus Day Adventure fly-in from October 7 to 10, at Dry Canyon in Alamogordo, NM.

If you've never been there, it's a big southwest-facing site (the prevailing wind direction!) just east of town, H3/P3, with about 2500 vertical and a nice working arrangement with the town that allows them to land in Hobby Park, right in town. You can see the White Sands national monument from launch.
