Is anyone interested in Box or Mustang Wednesday or Thursday (March 23 & 24)?

I am interested for either but I would have to leave town no earlier than 2 pm. Would that work or is it going to be too late? I'll see if I can arrange things so I can leave earlier.

I would especially like to do Mustang again. Thursday would work best for me but you know I'll try to make either work.

It looks like Wednesday wouldn't really work for me but I'm good Thursday after 12:00 PM.

The weather forecast is a bit confusing to me. The surface forecast looks like Box is a better bet for tomorrow. Mustang looks blown out on Thursday, but I don't trust the prediction. I will wait until the morning to make up my mind.
If you have better ideas on what the weather will be, post your thoughts or call me at my home telephone; 749-1296.

I am canceling my flying plans for today. The surface wind looks too windy for Mustang and marginally too windy for Box. The surface forecast looks even worse for tomorrow, but I will wait until Thursday morning before deciding.

My reading of the forecast says that Mustang will be blown out, BUT BOX should work. I will be at the I-10, Houghton exit North side "parking place" at noon today (Thursday, March 24), then at the Box LZ at 1PM. I intend to hike up - maybe to the top - and get a flight. My cell is 549-8250. My home telephone is 749-1296.

Box worked on both Wednesday and Thursday. I did not fly on Wednesday, but Soren hiked to the top launch and flew. He said conditions were very nice. He camped out and then hiked to the top in the morning (Thursday) and flew in the morning. I don't remember any other reports of a morning flight at Box.
Ioan and I hiked to the top launch at Box on Thursday afternoon. The wind was NW at about 10 to 14 with some higher gusts. Ioan launched an hour before sunset and I followed. The air was smooth with gentle lift. I found most of the lift to be on the ridge - and nice soaring at the false peak and the first knoll. Ioan soared all over the mountain and ended up soaring the top for much of his flight. I got a half hour flight and Ioan landed at sunset for about an hour of flying.
