I am itching to fly, but the weather predictions have not been very good for several weeks. Today's weather looks a bit better for Box - not great but I am getting less choosey. I might even think about A mountain. Is anyone else interested?

Box worked! We got to the first knoll at 3 PM to find nice launchable NW thermals. Instead of launching immediately, we waited to see if conditions would get even better. Well, the wind died. Then the wind picked up and shifted to the west. So Soren moved to that launch only to feel the wind shift to the northeast. He went back to the north launch and unsuccessfully tried to launch in a strong NE wind. The wind finally settled to a steady 12 mph from the NNE and Soren launched. I launched shortly afterwards. Soaring near the mountain was great and surprisingly smooth - considering the NNE direction. (There was trashy air at the base of the mountain and strong sink as one approached the LZ.) Soren had a very nice 30 minute flight. (His first S. AZ flight.) I managed to core big sink and had a much shorter flight.
