Hang Gliding - Paragliding
|
|
|
If you've ever imagined soaring like a bird, the Southern Arizona Hang Glider Association
can help you fulfill that dream. Foot-launched soaring has been described as "a group
activity that you do alone," and the SAHGA provides the friendship, camaraderie and
mutual support that has always been a hallmark of this wonderful sport.

Southern Arizona offers some of the most enjoyable, beautiful and challenging hang gliding and paragliding
in the United States. The Southern Arizona Hang Glider Association (SAHGA), based in Tucson, promotes foot-launched
soaring through education, flying site maintenance, fly-in sponsorship and public service projects.

SAHGA pilots fly all year 'round. Arizona's mild winters are perfect for relaxing flights spent
boating around the sky, and are ideal for training new pilots in the relatively cool conditions.
Cross country flights of over 200 miles have been logged by SAHGA pilots in the stronger spring
and summer conditions that precede the annual monsoons.

So if you're lucky enough to live in Southern Arizona, come on out and meet our members,
see what it's all about, possibly even arrange a tandem flight lesson with one of our
instructors. We think that once you've seen how we spend our weekends, you won't want
anything less!
|
|
And if you're already a pilot, either moving to Tucson or just visiting, come fly with us.
We think you'll agree, southern Arizona has some of the greatest flying in the world!
